Clinic Needs Prayer for Protection

Please pray for the safety of all those who are walking to Maforga to seek medical care at the clinic. Since the clinic officially opened March 1st, we have experienced spiritual attacks in the form of staff illness, water outages, false accusations & attempted extortion. Today the clinic was slow, which we thought was due to the scattered rain. However, we were informed today that people are afraid to walk to the clinic due to the recent attacks. A woman was attacked Sunday night while walking the Maforga drive, and a boy was attacked this morning on a different part of Maforga drive. The enemy is trying to stop people from coming to the clinic, where they hear a bible story &/or teaching in the waiting room, are shown the love of Jesus Christ while being treated, and then prayed over before they leave. We know that through faith, the enemy's weapons will not prosper against us. Please pray for God to confuse the tactics of the enemy, and for the people to resume coming to the clinic. Thank you so much for interceding for us! God bless you!

Arrived in Mozambique!I arrived in Mozambique in the afternoon of Feb 15th. After staying in Beira for 2 nights, I arrived in Maforga Wednesday afternoon. Praise God I have a house, which I've quickly turned into a home!
The rain catch works great when it rains, which unfortunately is not often enough! Not only do we need the rain for the drought, but it also brings a little reprieve to the hot days!

The local nurse, Madalena, starts March 1st. I met her today. She's a sweet, spirited, Godly woman. She was nervous to meet Amy & I, afraid we'd be "so serious," but we spent the lunch hour today swapping stories and laughing. Amy is a L&D nurse from Texas who is staying here for 3 months to help Stephanie open the clinic. She's also sweet, fun & a pleasure to work with.

I start my Portuguese lessons Friday, after meeting & hiring a local man, Edson, who was recommended by a local pastor. I've been studying on my own at night, and having fun trying to talk to Stephanie's workers during the day, but I'm anxious to really start learning!
